Lace up your walking shoes and mark your calendars! We are thrilled to invite you to our 3rd Annual Walk for Seniors Charity Bazaar Walkathon.

This special day is all about bringing our community together to celebrate, connect, and support the wonderful seniors who call Shepherd Village home. With a lively bazaar, friendly faces, community spirit, and a fun walk around our neighbourhood, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Every year, our Walkathon brings together residents, families, friends, businesses, and community partners who share a passion for enhancing the lives of our seniors. Not only do we raise much-needed funds for programs and services not covered by government funding, but we also celebrate the strength, wisdom, and vibrant spirit of our residents.

Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026

Registration & Welcome: 10:30 am

Location: Shepherd Village Inc.

Participants:  Anyone and everyone is invited to participate.

Walking Distance: 2 km – a walk around the block

Fundraising Goal: $25,000 Registration Fee: $10 or $50 per family (max 6 people)

With a minimum of $200 in sponsorships, the registration fee is waived.  (100% of sponsorships are tax-receipted.)

Incentives: Prize for the most sponsorships raised!

The new Bazaar will feature local vendors, food, crafts, music, ice cream, random raffles, and more – perfect for participants, residents, staff, families, and community members of all ages. How You Can Get Involved:

🤝Become a Sponsor or Donate

Show your commitment to our Shepherd Village community by becoming an event sponsor or donating. Sponsorship is a wonderful way to support a worthy cause while increasing your organization’s visibility and community engagement.  To sponsor or donate, contact Teresa (x336) directly or donate by clicking here. Please note in the Special Instructions box that it is a “Walkathon sponsorship and/or donation” and indicate whether it is a donation or sponsorship of a specific participant. Please specify in the Special instruction box if you want your sponsorship/donation to go towards the Village Club, Adult Day Centre or Lodge, Long Term Care.

Share your products or services with attendees at our community bazaar. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with local residents, families, staff, and supporters while contributing to a great cause.

🎁Donate an Auction or Raffle Prize

Help us add excitement to the day by donating a special item, event tickets, a gift basket, a service, or a gift card/certificate. Your contribution will help create memorable experiences for participants and support our fundraising efforts.

Whether you choose to walk, sponsor, donate, volunteer, or host a vendor booth, your support will help us continue providing meaningful programs, services, and opportunities for the seniors of Shepherd Village.
